Reflect, Reframe, Rise

I recently reached a milestone in my professional career that I feel the need to acknowledge. After six years in the financial industry, I’ve been dedicated my own office space. For years I have been in the direct “front line” of banking, meaning you are largely the initial person people speak with when calling the office or walking through the door. This is fantastic for nurturing connections and monitoring the daily operations of a branch. However, when you have list of high priority tasks or need to remain focused it is sometimes difficult to manage your time with frequent interruptions. I now have my own space and it feels incredible. I feel a great sense of ownership and appreciation as it did take me six years to get here.

I also acknowledge that this has been a long-time goal of mine to achieve. I recognize that another goal needs to fill the space of this one to avoid stagnation or complacency, but sometimes I struggle with setting realistic expectations with goal setting. I will often engage with my mentors or my leadership in order to better understand the context of my next achievement so that we can establish check points along the way to keep the goal beneficial for myself and the business I work for.

To celebrate my accomplishment, I gathered some girlfriends and we explored a local hot spring. It was an amazing day of relaxation and laughter. The brisk, nip in the air allowed me to welcome the steam and sulfur to heal and relax my body.

We watched the sunset over the river and together had a moment of gratitude for friends, great food, and the beautiful place we live.

I would recommend that the readers here ensure that they are taking time to give themselves grace for their accomplishments and know that sometimes we are in a progressive moment and the light is on the horizon.
